Tony Gentilcore


Tony Gentilcore Tony Gentilcore is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) holding a degree in Health Education with a concentration in Health/Wellness Promotion from the State University of New York at Cortland. Recognized as one of the premier trainers in New England, Tony has established an outstanding reputation due to his no-nonsense approach to training, unique perspective on program design, and corrective exercise experience.


Tony is also one of the co-founders of Cressey Performance, located in Hudson, MA. His ability to relate closely to CP student athletes, aspiring professional athletes, and experienced professionals, dates back to his collegiate baseball experience. Tony was named Most Valuable Pitcher in 1996 and 1997 for Onondaga Community College (Syracuse, NY), where he was also named 1st Team all Conference and 1st Team all Region. He earned an athletic scholarship to play baseball at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA where he was also named a “Division II Player to Watch” in 1998.


Tony is a regular contributor to Testosterone Magazine (T-nation.com), and has also been featured in Men’s Health Magazine. Check out his article archives.

Training/Program Design

The hardest person to train is yourself.


I’ve heard the above quote mentioned on numerous occasions, and I have to say that I agree 100%. I know personally, I am ALWAYS second guessing myself when it comes to setting up my own training and programming. And I can only assume that the majority of people reading this feel the exact same way in terms of their program design capabilities.


So why not let someone else do the thinking for you?

Online coaching/consulting makes sense. If you hired a personal trainer at your local gym, you are looking at anywhere from $80-$120 per SESSION. That can add up rather quickly, and even then….you’re not entirely sure what your money is buying. Are you sure that the personal trainer you hired is giving you an individualized program that specifically meets your needs and wants, or just something he or she got out of a magazine?


You’re different than everyone else, and you deserve to be treated that way. With a month’s programming, here is what you will receive:


1. A detailed questionnaire to fill out that will allow me to get the information I need in order to design a personalized program that is tailored specifically for YOU!


2. Video and picture support to showcase proper technique and form for any exercise or movement you’re not familiar with to ensure your safety.


3. 4 weeks of programming that includes corrective training, soft tissue/self myofacial release techniques, flexibility (dynamic and static), activation work, strength training, conditioning, recovery work, and basic nutritional support.


4. Access to my personal e-mail account 24 hours per day.
