How I Gained 40 Pounds of Muscle, Got the Girl, and Created the Life of My Dreams (And How You Can Too)
Just look at those pictures up there. That first one is god-awful isn't it? I think they sprayed me with enough water to hydrate a suburban family.
Anyway, I put those up there to show you my transformation. A lot of guys think I just "woke up" muscular. Not true.
You see, for a long time I was the prototypical skinny guy. Sure, I had decent genetics, but they wouldn't have counted for much if I didn't figure a few key things out on how to get bigger, stronger, leaner, and more confident.
My major transformation took place over a year, but I've been adding some muscle, getting leaner, and adding a few "finishing touches" ever since.
I've also started to help guys like you build the same kind of body.
How I've Helped Thousands of Guys
My first book, Built for Show, has helped thousands gain muscle, lose fat, and, well, look good enough to hook up. It's also shown me just how many guys out there are in the same boat as I once was.
I think it's important to know that we all start at the beginning. Where we end up depends a great deal on how we think of ourselves and the individual choices we make. Common sense, right?
But here’s the part most guys our age overlook: It’s not the situation that’s important. It’s how you react to the situation. If you doubt yourself, make excuses, or succumb to procrastination and apathy, all you’re doing is building a ceiling over yourself that will abruptly halt your progress before it even begins. And thumping your head against an immovable object is about as much fun as it sounds.
I used to be a skinny, shy little twerp (155 pounds in that first picture) who constantly sought approval from others to validate my life. I thought I was "cursed" to always be skinny.
But after defining the problem (bad workouts, not enough food, poor self-image), trying to break past my limitations, blaming other people, cursing, making a lot of stupid mistakes, cursing even more (which, I confess, I mostly enjoy), and ultimately learning from my mistakes, I realized that I—and I alone—decided my individual outcome.
Over the past few years, I've found out what can be done with some hard work, dedication, and balls. I've gained over 40 pounds of muscle and have gotten strong as hell. I've become more successful, found the girl of my dreams, and have an exciting and fulfilling lifestyle.
Sure, there are some down times, but they're inevitable.
But I make a constant choice every day to make my life great.
Sounds cocky, I know, but it's true. You can make yours great, too; all you need is a little help. (I know I sure did.)
I write this blog for guys who are tired of being ordinary and want to make a change. No more middle of the road. No more mediocre.
It's us versus them, and honestly, that's the way I like it. The guys who decide to thrive against the guys who merely try to survive.
Which side sounds more fun to you? Which side sounds more fulfilling?
More importantly, which side do you want to be on?
I'll give you one guess about what side I'm choosing.
I hope you'll join me.
